Riordan

The world of Riordan is still yet to be fully discovered. Some say that powerful beings of grand magic known as the Archmages perform miracles, even creating new life and forming entirely new continents to be discovered. Regardless of the truth of such rumors and myths, the people of Epiphany did discover new lands to the east which came to be known as Euphoria, home to many different countries and cultures founded over the centuries since settlement of the land began.   For one such country, the ones who first made landfall, the first settlers from Epiphany, discovered what would come to be known as the Kingdom of Wind. What was meant to be a wondrous exultation at the new discoveries of beasts and creatures, flora and fauna of all kinds, as well as the greater opportunities the land presented, was instead a dull whimper drowned out by the sound of furious wind. The raging sky overhead forced the settlers into hiding amongst the nearby cliffs, their ships torn apart by the storms and what they contained: glass. Shards fell from the clouds, cutting down anything in their path.   One settler, a half-elf named Glenn and the head of a scouting vessel, knew that the storms were more than unnatural and that something had to be done about them. Leaving their makeshift shelter, he took those who would come with him further down the coast in search of something, anything that would help them to solve the problem before them. Days past and the first settlers feared they would be the last, but soon, the cacophony of glass breaking on the ground grew quiet and then silent. Eventually, footsteps replaced the sound. The settlers saw the face of their savior. King Windborne earned his name that day... and so too did the Kingdom of Wind. Now, centuries later, the storms threaten the kingdom once again.
