Minor Isles

Not all the land of Rine joined the great Continents during the Sundering. Some chunks broke off, suspended by the magic sustaining the world. Without the protection of the Titans or visitation of the Gods, many of these smaller isles are at the mercy of the darker forces of the world. Occasionally, smaller islands can be coaxed free from their posts to float elsewhere. Some groups will even fashion smaller isles into ships, using sails and machinery to propel across the planet. Some groups use this to set up passage between continents, while others use their freedom to plunder more freely than their land-bound cousins.

Ecosystem

The Minor Isles typically have similar makeup and ecology as the major continents they surround. As they are far lighter than continents, smaller islands can be coaxed free from their posts to float elsewhere. It is not unheard of to see a patch of tundra floating by the Crystal Sea, albeit partially melted.

Localized Phenomena

The rock of the isles hold the ability to float. The larger the rock, the more weight it can carry before it sinks.
