remote settlement (name a WIP)

The "discovery" of Daohki by Monier Hart led to the creation of a settlement owned by New Esland.

Demographics

[settlement] is inhabited by soldiers and their familys, and an itrepid few advanturers or explorers. Originally, the settlement was inhabited solely by explorers, but reports of Ancylo and the creeping movement of Croi populations has shifted the population towards a far more militaristic nature.

Government

[settlement] follows the same heirarchy as the New Esland military, with the command leader of the island settlement reporting back to the leads on the continent.

Infrastructure

The settlement is truly bare-bones, with as many skeletons of houses as actual houses. Except for the highest ranks, houses are inhabited by two or more families while the few carpenters living in the settlement rush to construct more houses. To escape the tight confines, people spend much of their time in large communal buildings, intended for planning military strategy, but instead filled with children running and dogs barking.   Naturally, the outskirt of the town are filled with fields of crops, and non-native wildlife creeps over the hills, munching on grass and hunting small animals. The town inhabitants call them sheep and cows, but the local honey-grass would call them vicious hunters.

History

Since settling, the town has grown rapidly, and is expected to continue to grow, with simlar settlements popping up all along the coast. For now there is peace, but three groups are inhabiting the island, and none of them want the others there. At some point, there will be bloodshed. For now, pleasentry are exchanged in letters to hide the posturing undertone.
