The Marsh

The Marsh is a vast swampland lined with ever-changing waterways and canals. The Anax River that flows into this region has seven main bayous, or tributaries, that form this wetland region. The waters weave their way through the funnel-shaped trees growing throughout these soggy bayous. Although all the people of the Marsh have similar lifestyles, each bayou is steeped in its own rich traditions and customs. The bountiful vegetation and aquatic life are unique to this region are not seen anywhere else in Revilo.
Due to the Marsh’s landscape constantly being in flux, with the rise and fall of the water, it can be quite the challenge for non-natives to find passage. For that reason, travelers in this region are rare. The few who do elect to journey here are usually looking to disappear from something or someone. Most sentient inhabitants of the Marsh live in huts that float and move with the waterways. Some species even caravan throughout the area together, drifting wherever the current takes them.
