Fiery Pits
The Fiery Pits are a smouldering group of volcanoes lining the northern edge of Revilo. It is widely believed that this region sits atop the back of the Embreson. Most of the creatures inhabiting this area are certain he is lying dormant in hibernation, and they anxiously await his glorious return.
This volcanic complex has seven peaks creating an ominous wall of steam seen, on a clear day, from as far as the Wajue desert. When the winds are strong the sulfuric odor of the steam travels just as far. The Sorcias feared one day there would be a large eruption that would flow all the way down to the cities within the Wajue. Because of this they created a system using wind pipes to cool the lava flow faster at the edges of the Fiery Pits. The slow, steady flow of lava teamed with the Sorcia’s invention has created a growing wall of cooled igneous rock around the area.
Between the overwhelming heat, fear of eruption, and natural wall, there are few outsiders who dare to adventure into the Fiery Pits. Those who do are in search of ancient relics or\]
precious gemstones, which have been rumored to be hidden deep within the volcanoes’ natural caverns. This leaves most of the creatures dwelling within the Fiery Pits largely removed from the rest of Revilo. A few of the inhabitants leave in search of food or sacrifices, but it is not a common occurrence.
