Depths Unknown
The Depths Unknown is the term used by all familiar with Revilo to describe the waters surrounding this vast continent. Just beyond the shoreline is an impassable, fast-moving current flowing in a counterclockwise direction. During the Age of Waiting many Revilians embarked on voyages in search of their gods, but few have made it past this undertow and returned to tell the tale. From these failed excursions no one truly knows what lies beyond this mysterious current.
Nevertheless, there is one slow lull in the the fierce pull of the ocean, and this weak point has become the only true entry into Revilo. This calm in the water allows passage to the river guiding seafarers directly to the port town of Murk’s Hollow. However, the entry point is just that… only for entry. Those who dare to attempt leaving Revilo will certainly become entrapped by the pull of the water, only to drown or be eaten alive. It is believed that Anaxygosal, god of water, lives in the Depths Unknown and will use the tentacles on his back to drag any vessel to the ocean floor before he will allow the inhabitants to leave Revilo.
