Badlands
The Badlands run from the western edge of the Salts to the foothills of the Perilous Peaks. Its rocky beaches are covered in stones and pebbles, with the occasional large rock formation jutting up from the ocean. As the Badlands get closer to the mountain range the rocks get gradually larger, with the earth opening up below them. Travelers must be vigilant with their footing, lest they find themselves tumbling deep into one of the wide cracks. Once trapped within one of these abysmal crevices, you will surely be cooked by the suns of Revilo.
There are few creatures who reside in the inhospitable Badlands. Very little vegetation grows on the rocky surfaces or in their cracks, leaving this barren region mostly uninhabited. The Greyskrulls, a violent and vile tribe of Reapers, rule the area. These fierce and brutal beasts make the Badlands an even less alluring home for any intelligent species.
Kaldor, self-proclaimed King of the Greyskrulls, has a number of camps on the surface of the Badlands. However, most of their kind live in natural caverns formed from the shifting of the rock formations. Many of the caverns are connected, and can be entered through most of the larger surface cracks. Recently, the Greyskrulls have connected their system of caverns, the Catacombs, with the southernmost caverns of the Perilous Peaks.
There is only one rational reason to journey into the Badlands intentionally, and that is for the Cruor of Solleel. The blood of the ancient god Solleel has been preserved since before the Earthshatter, and can be found heavily guarded deep within the Catacombs. It is said that the Cruor of Solleel can heal any sickness or disease. However, this coagulated substance leaves a touch of madness behind in any who drink it.
