Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Damien is rather agile, having spent most of his time focusing on gymnastics and strength so as to be better fit for sneaking around to commit acts of violence. He is lean and tall.

Facial Features

Damien has a somewhat young-looking face, belying his terrifying demeanor. He keeps himself clean-shaven. He has a scar over his left eye that runs from his forehead to his cheek, which thankfully didn't damage the vision in his eye permanently after the fact. His nose is sharp and down-pointed.

Apparel & Accessories

Damien mostly wears dark purples, blacks, and dark forest-themed colors. He has a signature long coat with lots of pockets that he usually uses to conceal his weapons. He often wears dark athletic joggers and button-downs or unmarked t-shirts. In terms of weapons, he generally uses a sword that he will bring strapped to his waist. He also often brings a handgun and knives on missions, strapped into his jacket or on his waist.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

He was born into a family living in Owell, New Mexico (previously Roswell, but the town sign fell apart years ago, and people just call it Owell these days, even though some signs still state it as Roswell). His father was a third-generation Egyptian-American and his mother didn't have much knowledge of her ancestry but she still spoke broken Spanish as well as her native language, taught by her mother. Damien had two older brothers, twins, named Osiris and Set by their mother, who had some strange concepts about their father's heritage and had done it without his knowledge. He had a bit more say in Damien's naming. 
By the time Damien was five, their family had broken down quite thoroughly. It had never been a happy marriage, but wounds don't heal if they're not treated, and certainly, neither his mother nor father were attempting to fix much. The alcohol, the rage and hurt he inflicted on her slowly wore her down, until one day she snapped. And then they packed up and left, as far away as they could get, to a city where they wouldn't be recognized or paid attention to.
His mother went a bit catatonic after that, and Osiris couldn't speak for years, and so Set became the sole caretaker of the household. Damien grew up and both Osiris and Set went to darker and darker places until one day they up and left. To this day Damien still isn't sure why they left or what reason they had for leaving him behind.
Not long after, he was homeless, and got kidnapped on his way back from school. He met a future friend and fellow captive, Rhys, there, and when they finally escaped the horrors of the trafficking ring they'd been taken in by, Rhys took him to the Southern Underground for shelter, because she had connections with one of the higher-level members. They both joined and have spent the rest of their current lives working there. Rhys rose through the ranks to become second-in-command, but Damien stayed as a mid-rank but well-respected assassin.

Education

Damien had off-and-on homeschooling and public schooling up until about the age of 16, after which he was kidnapped. He spent a lot of his time learning to fight and cook, as well- Osiris taught him to cook and Set to fight. After escaping the ring, he was taught to work as an assassin, as well as given a basic enough education in real-world topics. Things like history or social sciences were not priorities in the two gang's education system. After graduating into a full-time job, Damien spent a lot of his free time either perfecting his skills as a cook and baker, or reading up with whatever books he could get his hands on. He likes puzzles, and has spent countless hours solving whatever types of puzzles he can find. He did such peaceful hobbies because it helped cool the hurt constantly raging in the back of his mind.

Damien works as a mid-tier assassin for the Southern Underground.

Mental Trauma

Damien has problems with ptsd and he definitely has lots of anger issues and a fear of abandonment to work through. While he was taught social boundaries and conversation, he's not very good at it- he comes off as cross and cold- and he doesn't really have many boundaries when it comes to violence. There are hard lines he refuses to cross especially thanks to his own trauma, and people who cross those lines are unforgivable in his mind. For a long time, he spent so much time being either numb or angry that his superiors used him as a sort of point-and-shoot attacker against their opposition. He would follow their orders and take his anger out violently on whoever he could, and then come home and behave like a shell of a man. As he's grown older and ever so slowly gotten closer to his few friends, he's started to learn to leave his anger in his past, and has begun to grow weary of the violence his job entails.

Morality & Philosophy

Damien spent most of his life viewing things in black and white. The world was how it was, and everyone just had to spend their lifetime coping with it- nothing you could do about that. Violence was a necessity, and the opposition returned volley for every bit he gave to them, so it evened out. Most people were not to be trusted. People who committed sexual acts without consent were the scum of the earth who deserved to die slow and painful deaths. 
Other than the last one, he slowly changed his views over time to realize that not all was hopeless, and meeting Jared was the straw on the camel's back to lead him toward a better view on life.

Damien has long since lost the idea that there might be some god up there.

Social Aptitude

Damien has very little social aptitude. He isn't very talkative or expressive, leaving most people to think he's just very stoic. That may well be, but he often isn't really paying attention to the conversation anyway, and when he is he doesn't often know what to say. When he does talk or open up in any way, he can be rather crass and blunt.

Speech

Damien has a rather deep voice, and no thick accent of any kind. Half his life being spent in a southern household and the other half deep in the north, he didn't really develop an accent from either place.

Wealth & Financial state

Damien would be considered somewhere in the middle class. He doesn't really spend on much outside of cooking- which he needs for basic survival, anyway- and books, which can take him several weeks to complete depending on his current job intake. So for the most part he saves his money well, and leases out a small house from the Southerners with two beds and one bath.
