The Forgotten Horrors

Vincent Brigne.
  Scientist.
But also an accomplished writer, archeologist, philanthropist, cryptozoologist and a man of many other great titles and accomplishments.
But a man not easily challenged.
He is the writer of many important documents concerning the history of the world as well as many well-known species across the world. One of the many volumes he has written throughout his life was a book named  "The Forgotten Horrors."
The Forgotten Horrors is a large volume of personal writing from Vincent Brigne believed to have been penned in his later years of life, during a period of retirement when he had been able to devote much of his time to the study of the occult and cryptic studies of the world. One such field was the study of a mythical group of beings called The Eldritch, or also otherwise called The Forgotten Horrors by Vincent Brigne himself.
The book was written as an investigation and exploration into the assumed and rumored existence of The Forgotten Horrors as documented by other old sources and individuals from different periods of history, as well as the papers and documents belonging to more accomplished scientists and investigators concerning their thoughts on the existence of these ancient and supernatural beings who all other sources often quote as being extremely powerful and ancient living deities who have been hiding from the world while waiting to return to it.
Also included in the book are details written about those deities, their signs and sigils, their history and the rumored spells and incantations needed in order to summon them into the mortal world, though many of the other sources included in Brigne's book have discussed the ideas of leaving the spirits alone and not summoning them, as it is believed that they will do nothing except pose a great danger to the world if they are summoned using the spells and incantations he has provided in the pages of the book, which consists of several chapters' worth of studies, insights and other conversations and looks into the possibilities of the mysterious Eldritch beings existing in the universe. Although he does not reach any conclusions into the existence of these beings, he does go into great detail about their descriptions, abilities and other features, as well as the thoughts of himself and other individuals about where the beings came from and for how long they had existed before being discovered in some capacity by the individuals who had first documented them.
It is thought that The Forgotten Horrors was one of the last books written by Vincent Brigne before his death from old age, although the exact year of his death was not known. It is known though that he was supposedly writing one final book before he died, a book which looked deeper into the existence of a strange being that the world had called Cthobriss possibly to be found out at sea in an undisclosed location previously undiscovered by humans. Vincent never finished this book, and it is assumed that he died before he could finish it. The last that anyone had seen him alive was before he set out on a voyage to reach the unknown location out at sea along with his close friend Thomas Thydrok, another well-known and established scientist who had practiced in various fields along with his friend Brigne.
