Opron Center

The country of Opron is home to more than forty cities spread over millions of miles of land, each of these holding several thousand to several millions of residents.   Of these many cities, only two have taken the status of being the largest in the country.   And one of them is named Opron Center.   The city of Opron Center was founded by a group of Humans that had come from the central lands of the continent of Rethium following the beginning of the first major exploration event in recorded modern history, an event known as the Great Expansion, which saw several races spreading across the continent to find their new homes in the world. The city of Opron Center was founded by Humans, who allowed a group of Kitsune to split off and to move further into the country to find their own home in which they could live away from the other races.   It was built over time around the feet of a large and freestanding mountain found in the central region of Garden County, which is the first of only two counties but is also the largest of the two. This city grew over time from only a few thousand people into a vast and circular-shaped city that housed several hundreds of thousands, although it continued to grow even during more peaceful and uneventful times in it's history. The city was eventually expanded upon as the population continued to grow, and more homes and other constructs were built both outwards away from the mountain and along the mountain's surface, which large terraces carved from the mountain's stone to provide surfaces on which more homes and service buildings could be built to house and employ the people who lived in the city. This led to Opron Center eventually sitting on four levels of ground, with the final level, technically level five, devoted to the palace of the king and his family.   The city of Opron Center is located at the heart of a large valley, and these open, vast fields are home to the farms and crop fields where the food preserves are grown by devoted farmers and their staff who, by growing such massive amounts of food, are essentially employed by the city itself, meaning they are likely government workers instead of independent workers making their lives trading with the countless venues inside the walls of the massive Regiopolis.    The walls of Opron Center are double-thick. One layer of extremely dense and heavy bedrock stone, built against a framework of sturdy iron beams imported from Stale and the metal foundries that can be found deep in the hearts of the Dwarven cities that reside in the country. On the inner side of the walls, another thick layer of stone wraps the metal beams into the shadows, creating an extremely strong wall that can protect against any and all outside attacks. The first level of the city is devoted to the barracks of the city's army standing as the guarding force against the outside world, although this level is also disguised as an economic center with small shops and other venues scattered around the expansive city blocks. The major distinction about this first level however is that it is submerged underneath the ground's surface level, meaning that the first level is in fact a massive and very deep trench lined with portcullis' that drop into the first level, to discourage any incoming armies from launching a full scale attack against the city. The second level of the city lies on the ground level, connected to the outside wall by more than six bridges that span over the first level. The second and third level of the city are the smaller of the five, devoted to the homes of the people living in the city, while the third level is devoted to the shopping centers and eatery venues of the city. The fourth level is the schooling center level, with various other small shops and venues located inside to provide for the students residing in the level. The fifth level lying above is inaccessible from the exteriors of all other levels in the city, and the entrance into it is hidden from the public, while the main exit comes out onto the surface of level two.    The city also boasts another interesting feature, this being the fact that the interiors of all levels are not hollow. Tunnels, storage and other facilities can be found inside, reached by highly guarded portcullis'. Inns, taverns, brothels and other disreputable locales are known to reside in the interior, as do many larger libraries, churches, vaults - devoted to various resources and materials - and other important constructs. The first level's interior is devoted to larger barracks and human relocation vaults used by the citizens in case of an emergency, with a private section for the city's elite as well as the king and his family.    Several large watchtowers stand amongst the fields around the city, with elite guards keeping watch over the landscape to prevent and discourage attacks.    The nearest cities to Opron Center are Mirton, Ever, Yarn and Carran, acting as trading posts, guard towns and waypoints between Opron Center and other cities in the country. These towns are known to act as such by requiring the personal information of any individual crossing into Opron Center, meaning to protect the city from potential terrorists and other ne'er-do-well's with ill intent. It is also known that many elite members of society have retired into these towns, especially Mirton and Ever, mostly comprised of the retired individuals from Opron Center and their descendants who never decided to leave. Opron Center is one of the greatest educational powerhouses on the continent, with an approximately ninety-two-percent graduation rate for students enrolled in the institutions in the city.
