Brokk and Sindri

"Though they were not born of the gods, these Dwarven brothers were so skilled at their craft that they were elevated to divine status by the gods in recognition of their talents." -excerpt from Tales of the Gods, Vol. 2

Craftsmen of the Gods

Brokk and Sindri are the ingenious craftsmen of the gods, and they themselves are gods of the Forge, Craftsmen, and Invention. Theirs were the hands that forged the mighty hammer, Mjollnír; Odhinn's truestrike spear, Gungnír; Freyr's dancing sword, Sumarbrandr; Freya's amber necklace, Brísingamen; and countless other divine relics. It is because of their incredible skills and knowledge, that the gods chose to elevate the brothers to divine status, bringing them to live in their divine realm.

Although they are now among the divine pantheon, and granted eternal life, they do not hold the same level of power as the other gods, for they were born as mortal Dwarves. Despite that, they are treated as equals by their fellow gods, for in many cases, without the brother's creations, none of the gods would have survived the Great Cataclysm at all.

Because of their mortal origins, Brokk and Sindri do not have avatars, only their true physical forms. Their appearances remained the same as when they were mortal. In his religious artworks, Brokk is depicted as a huge, pale bluish skinned Dwarf with a bald head, and a huge salt and pepper beard, braided and clasped with runed iron rings. His arms and neck are covered in runic tattoos, and he wears a heavy leather smithing apron over-top ornate armor.

Sindri on the other hand, is depicted as an unusually thin Dwarf with pale white skin, a short cropped beard, and long brown hair, shaved on the sides and braided down the back. The sides of his head are adorned with runic tattoos. Like his brother, he wears a smithing apron over-top ornate armor.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Brokk and Sindri are represented by an anvil covered in runes. Though there are no traditional temples dedicated to the Brothers, in every hot forge or busy workshop, you would be hard pressed to not find an altar bearing a small anvil among some candles. These are the Brothers houses of worship; these dusty, soot coated places, where metal shavings and hot embers fly through the air. These are where the fires of invention burn brightest.

Tenets of Faith

Inspiration is Eternal

The spark of inspiration can never be extinguished, it may be smothered, but it will always return. As brief as a flash of inspiration may seem, those sparks may soon ignite into a firestorm of ideas. Just as you would protect the embers of a dying fire, shield the sparks of your inspiration from the winds of time, and allow them to ignite the future.

Dedication to your Craft

Hard work, and unwavering dedication to ones craft will always be rewarded. A life lived in the pursuit of bettering oneself though the mastery of a craft is the highest and most noble of callings. Walk unashamedly down the path of your dream.
