Teleny

The rarest form of magic. Allows users, “telenists,” to “transport” physical force in order to affect the position or motion of objects. Both innate and remote.

Effect

Teleny creates force vectors. Originating a vector from one's self and ending it at the target object results in a collision-type alteration, which is often destructive and difficult to control. Originating a vector from the target object and ending it at a desired location results in a lift-type alteration, which is generally more controlled. It's sort of like the difference between hitting something or carrying it.

Side/Secondary Effects

Teleny will not result in physical damage to the target object outside non-inherent damage, like if the object hits something or is moved so fast that air friction causes damage. However, strong enough vectors, especially of collision teleny, will result in physical pain to the target object if it is a living being.
As teleny is instinctive, imprecise, "eyeball" magic, it is very common to misjudge vector direction or magnitude or to use the magic by accident. It requires no energy from the telenist, but requires great focus to use successfully. Extended use will result in a loss of ability to focus, resulting in distraction, disorientation, dizziness, confusion, irritability, obscured vision/hearing, inability to articulate, headaches, nosebleeds, and eventually unconsciousness.

Manifestation

Weak or vague vectors will result in a sort of overexposure of the area around the vector: it becomes bright and bleary, but barely causes any physical disturbance. This is most often done by children growing into their powers or adults making a show. Strong, direct, "tight" vectors are invisible and inaudible; some humans say that being moved via teleny, even nonviolently, causes a tingling sensation, particularly at the hands, feet, and throat.

Material objects can be enchanted to channel teleny, which focuses and strengthens the power, like firing a bullet out of a gun instead of throwing it.

Gestures & Ritual

Telenists have never been able to accurately describe how their magic is used. It doesn't help that they don't seem to agree on that subject: either because it is instinctive and manifests in different ways across users or because they mostly lie to keep the power to themselves, answers tend to vary. Many use their hands to "direct" what they want the target object to do.
