Scroll
A way of casting magic.
Scrolls are the poor man's way of magic casting, but do require some skill to use. The exact science behind them is uncertain, but by casting mana into the scroll, the effects of the scroll are revealed, and used instantly. Some scrolls have multiple uses, while others have just one.
The way a scroll is made, however, is a procedure passed down from scrollweaver to apprentice. While it is a very intricate procedure, and each spell weaved is unique, the basic principle is roughly the same.
- Figure out which spell you want to weave, and acquire materials
- Make some paper, but only about halfway. You still need it to be pulpy and absorbent
- Cast the spell onto the paper, but only to the point of the mana transferring outward (and thus onto the paper), stopping just before the spell is actually cast. This is the most difficult step
- Finish and dry paper
