Redmond

The streets of Redmond are a testament to the resilience of metahumans. If they still qualify as streets. Hell, there are those who claim the residents don't count as metahumans. The filth, the squalor, the violence. The hope, the ingenuity, the desperate fight for survival. Corps rule the world but they don't give a shit about places like Redmond. Unless they need to sell some fragged BTLs or dump some radioactive slag. Or hire 'runners of course. Anyway, that makes Redmond one of the most free places on the planet, so long as you pay the local gangs for protection. Plenty of opportunities here to make a quick nuyen, settle some scores or maybe make a fresh start. Maybe even make a difference while you do.   The world is a shithole. In most RPGs you get to save the world, but that's not so easy here. Countless 'runners have decided not to deliver the earth shattering pay data to their Johnson only to have it reappear a few months later in the hands of someone worse. Thankfully you aren't a Shadowrunner, yet. And maybe you can make a difference for the elderly orc woman who squats nearby or the young couple who couldn't afford to pay off the go-go-go this month. In the process you might just save yourself. But beware, the more you improve the neighborhood, the more it becomes a target of the legions of circling vultures.
