Describe a ruined structure that nature has reclaimed. What was its original purpose?

This room is perhaps the most valuable room in the entire galaxy. After the atrophy of knowledge on a galactic level, this ruin contains the blueprint to regain space travel, terraform planets, and combat deadly illnesses. 

The tendrils covering the walls have exposed the books to humidity, utterly ruining many of them. Batteries in some of the data pads have corroded, leaving behind holes through the data cores. Pages that have been dampened and dried in a thousand year cycle disintegrate at the touch.
