The First Valley

This land was discovered by the first explorers. The Valley is reasonably habitable and has had lots of settlements develop themselves.
Cities, Towns and Villages:
Mineral-rich and gemstone-laden caves were easy to find for the first explorers. This lead to the first boom in population, a boom in small mining towns along the base of the mountains leading inland in the valley. One such village was established by the half-elf house of Sylvaranth at the base of the mountain Crasta Mora, the locals caringly call it Sylmor. While the town grew and made the Sylvaranth family obscenely wealthy, growth was limited, the easy-to-find veins and gemstones took, the mining boom came to an end. Many such villages exist throughout the Valley but most have become ghosts of their former selves. Few managed to branch out into other opportunities and trades and grew to be the Towns filling the valley today, such as the towns of Neversummer, Kaistor, Cappelton or New Barat Dur
The metropolitan city of the Valley is Gatestone. It has a uniquely positioned gate-stone at its center, allowing for inter-planar travel via the astral plane.

Geography

The First Valley is defined as the area around the bay and further inland, up along the Bruinen(Loudwater) towards the Quadwaters and all the way to the Far Mountains.
The more prominent mountain peaks along the valley have been named; Crasta Mora(7205ft), Orodruin(8120ft), Susten Horn(9870ft), Mount Gont(6310ft), and Mount Onn(5030ft).
Forrest stretches from the shorelines all the way to the base of, and partway up the large mountains. The lands between the Loudwater and the base of Mount Gont tend to become swampy during wetter seasons and so lay home to creatures more accustomed to that kind of environment. It's often referred to as the 'Dead man's Swamp'
The shores along the Southern Reaches ocean tend to be harsher with strong winds and powerful waves crashing into anything that dares to come within reach. Due to this, settlements along this coast tend to be favored less than the valley ones. But someone always wants to be out of reach of the common lawman, so settlements like Bilgeden were bound to pop up eventually.
