Reeve Otenson (a.k.a. Greil)
Reeve was born the son of Lord Oten. While his elder brother Cidran was given the world, Reeve was forced to fight tooth and nail for every scrap of prestige and knowledge he could acquire.
After being denied even the Knighthood he should have inherited, Reeve joined the Drachenloch military and attained a middling rank. When the unit was attacked on a routine mission by a feral pack of werewolves Reeve was the only survivor amongst his unit... and the entire village they were assigned to guard.
Even though Reeve showed himself capable of resisting the curse to some extent he was still summarily discharged from the military and left to fend for himself, quickly disowned by Lord Oten.
Reeve wandered for a time, only barely of age and without any support. When he hit rock bottom he was finally found by the mysterious man known as the Voiceless Sage. The sage bound the curse with a Seal made from Draconic Runes and began teaching Reeve, now known as Greil, his arts of Blood Magic.
Once Greil had learned all the Voiceless Sage was willing to teach he was sent out into the world once more to gain more direct experience and began work as a mercenary and bounty hunter. After several years, a much more experienced Greil received an invitation to a tavern in the small town of Orick...
