Elves

Graceful, elegant, and timeless are the race of elves. Their people men and women of the Elderwood a forest in which the very wind of magic sweeps through its forestry in brilliance growing vegetation and its overgrowth to unknown heights. Such magical aptitude carries greatly into that of the elven race for magic and their close connection runs in their blood, largely believed to be the reason for their graceful appearance and ageless bodies. Making them natural scholars and mages with their understanding and respect for the chaotic forces of magic in tandem with that of nature.   yet the elves empathy has been something to be taken advantage of and abused and has made members of their race spiteful especially so with the godking forcing their elders into a pact and allies under the threat of annihilation of the Elderwood. For every Elf give faith to the great Life Tree a great tree that towers far above the Elderwoods canoies and far into the reaching sky it is believed that the soul and essence of an elf goes to the eternal garden within and its because of it if the tree were ever threatened it is no question that every elf would take up arms to defend it, less one is a drow.   The Elves and the Drow   It was unheard of for an elf to pursue ideals that were outside of the woods and the eternal lifetree, to turn their back on the homeland of their people and their many ancestors and seek faith in the more human domains or otherwise their own. This by all means is forbidden is Elven culture for if an elf truly no longer see's the Life tree as its place after death or holds its ideals in heart it changes to a Drow in the next full moon (this is the same for half-elves however they still use the half-elf racial traits). And with more and more human interference and interaction this occurred more and more often leading to the creation of the new race of Drow, Idealist and individualist who have retreated to the southern swamp regions of man in pursuit of their own ideals. This has led to the first divide in the Elven population and it is all thing but friendly.

Civilization and Culture

History

The Hollow King   The eldest of the races and the residents of the Fey realms, it is often spoken that the elves true homeland lies in the fey and its verdant plains were the elves original homeland. A place of magic, peace, and plenty free from the cruelty and corruptive nature of the material realm. It is due to such beliefs like this that the elves value the life of their forest and the especially the life tree fro they see it as a hallowed place that is the idealizes location of their homeland within the material realm and the area in which the realms are closest together. And its because of such zealous guard the elves have become no strangers to conflict, many years ago the elves were marched upon by soldiers bearing torch and axe and drew closer and closer to chopping at the very tree's of the elderwood, and even with their many pleas and warning they showed little sign of stopping.   These order were at the call of the Empty king a hollow of a man who's greed new no bounds and his hungry eyes had finally turned to the very borders of the elves for he saw them as little more than kind traders and forest folk. And in the terms of kindness he was right, but saying that one is weak simply for they are kind is a foolish decision especially when dealing with that of the elves. So when the Hollow kings troop hacked their axes into the first tree of the elderwood they found the forest come alive and retatialte thousand of arrows whistled out of the forest and with it the very tree's themselves came to like walking and smashing at the lines in defense.   The war between the elves and the hallowed king was long and grueling for where the elves were unyielding and their forest fighting with them, the hollow king was rich and cruel with little regard for casualties of the mercenaries that worked beneath him. Employing cruel trebuchets he planned to burn the very woods down from afar where no tree or arrow could reach. The very fate of the Elder wood was on the line it was queen Greya who brought this disaster to an end before its occurrence with grace and power she summoned a bow of radiate life and greenery and drew back and arrow that seemed to hold the restrained grace of the forests anger. And in a viscous release slew the hollow king from the canopy of the highest tree to the entry hall of his audience chambers pinning him permanently to his greedy seat. And permanently setting the elves as a race not to be trifled with.
