Remasberg
Remasberg is an elven island in the far south of Rea. While it's location would typically give it a very cold climate, the advanced magical abilities of those who reside there have actually formed it into an elaborate tropical paradise.
Inspired by the incredible Wuhu Island, Remasberg is a lavish sports resort island. Every possible sport is accounted for here, and the immortal elves that live there have spent all of their incredible arcane wisdom in perfecting the art of leisure. The large central mountain offers every possible experience, with tailored weather each day by powerful druids. A perfect layer of fresh snow makes for ideal skiing/snowboarding every day. The beach volleyball scene is lively.
Geography
As you might expect, Remasberg is picturesque in every possible way. Little hamlets surround a beautiful bay with gorgeously colored sailboats. A perfect towering mountain dusted with snow dominates the skyline. The beaches stretch on with perfectly soft sand for miles.
History
Generally, people identify most closely with the sport they play before any other trait. The most powerful archwizard, Lara Neumann, identifies first and foremost as a rock climber. Most people do not work more than 10-20 hours a week, to ensure proper time for leisure. Nobody is ever in a rush on Remasberg, since they are all immortal. The children of Remasberg typically don’t leave home or even start dating until they are 100 or so years old, since you only get to be a child once, and you have forever to be an adult. Almost everyone works in the leisure industry in an arcane fashion, whether carving out new tunnels for the spelunkers or fine-tuning the waves for surfers. Every single tree on the mountain is awakened and they are often rearranged to create new routes for skiers.
The government is largely communal in Remasberg. When a decision does need to be made, they call a city hall meeting, which is encouraged for all citizens but mandatory for none. To encourage people to properly take part in their government, city hall meetings serve cocktails, usually feature some sort of spectacle or show before and after, and are delivered much like Steve Jobs announcing another iphone model. As immortals, they often get bored, and occasionally will vote on if they want to have a “surprise” natural disaster in the next year, to be orchestrated by their archdruid. The “government” also steps in to hold the public lotto system which determines who is to give birth to a new child, which occurs only when someone dies (most commonly by sports-related accident, but even then only once every ten years or so) to maintain the population.
There is a council that makes all decisions, which includes a representative of each class (Bard, Cleric, etc). Remasberg is intensely isolationist. Two thousand years ago, they experimented with an exchange program to share their knowledge with the rest of the world, but it went horribly awry.
