Nature Spirits

OVERVIEW

There are two different kinds of nature spirits, bound and unbound. Bound nature spirits are tied to an area of great nature, such as forests and great plains. They are also the most powerful kind of nature spirit, with the strongest of them being able to withstand the wrath of the gods. Unbound nature spirits operate differently simply needing to be within 10 miles of something from the natural world. While bound nature spirits can only be slain if the body of nature they are connected to is destroyed, unbound nature spirits have a series of steps and requirements that must be fulfilled to work. One such example of the steps are: spin it three times, violently slam it into the ground, and stab in the heart with a knife of exactly 8.23 inches made of an alloy containing 58% iron and 42% silver. All nature spirits typically take forms with beastlike qualities, most often resembling typical beastkin, but sometimes they have beast qualities not found in typical beastkin.

Unbound

Unbound nature spirits are not as powerful as bound spirits but are the most common form of them. Two well known examples of unbound nature spirits are Salaravae and The Hunter. Unbound nature spirits are more common than bound versions and are often quite difficult to distinguish from regular beastkin. In the past, a group of various races began hunting down unbound nature spirits with unknown motives. Eventually the group fell apart, but through their efforts only five unbound nature spirits remain. Most of them are in hiding to this day.

Bound

Bound nature spirits are the most powerful of nature spirits. They are few in number and often have a foul attitude. It is a common estimate that there is five currently in Rawath, but only two have been confirmed. one of which is in a large forest near Dragonsdale, and the other has been spotted somewhere in the ocean by passing traders.
