The Crystal Sighted

Known for their patience and wisdom, Loxodons have always been sought after in Ravnica for their insight and powers of observation. Thus it is interesting that the Loxodons are the only race within Ravnica to suffer a permanent physical loss as they age. As a Loxodon ages, their eyes began to turn white, in what appears to be some kind of crystallization, until they lose all pigmentation and become blind. Forced to rely upon their other senses, a elderly Loxodon has a unique view of the world, and gains an intrinsic insight into circumstances that other races lack.   Battle focused Guilds, such as the Gruul Clans, tend to see the loss of sight as a great weakness in an individual, and such tend to underestimate the abilities of the Loxodon elders. While Guilds that prize wisdom, such as the Azorius Senate and the Selesnya Conclave, treasure the elderly Loxodon and refer to them as the Crystal Sighted, due to their ability to see beyond the surface of a situation. If a Loxodon with eyes of crystal sits at a negotiation table, it is known that whatever is being discussed is of a serious nature.   While an elderly Loxodon is not suited to the martial arts, their crystal sight lends them a otherworldly connection to the magical currents throughout the world of Ravnica, and many of those crystal eyed Loxodons live with one hand forever resting in the world of magic. As such, many races turn to them for their great understanding into the very nature of magic. Even the Gruul Clans respect the power that they can bring to bear.
