Rebirth Sickness

While there have always been stories spoken of in the dark, of a spells meant to raise the dead going wrong, it is only in the case of Firellan, the former House Dimir agent turned Rakdos entertainer, that the Rebirth Sickness has been documented.   Shortly after being raised from the dead, the individual was recorded visiting various healers and clerics. When spoken with later, it was confirmed that he had believed something had gone wrong with the spell and that he could feel himself dying. Detection spells were cast, but nothing was found to be physically or spiritually wrong with him and he was sent on his way.   Later when he became obsessed with his mortality, House Dimir sent him to work within the Cult of Rakdos, and clear documentation concerning his condition was lost. It was eventually discovered that he had begun experimenting on citizens by various potions and necrotic means to see if he could end the death of his body, and shortly before his death at the hands of the Boros Legion, sources say he was preparing for a sacrificial ritual. No indication of the exact nature of the ritual has been discovered, but it is believed that he was seeking immortality to end his Rebirth Sickness.
