Elaffe

Known for their long necks and sturdy builds, the Elaffe are treasured mounts in the Third Precinct and are valued pack beasts. Easily able to maneuver on the bustling streets of Ravnica, The Elaffe were carefully breed to be strong enough for pack animals, while also able to feed themselves while on duty. Lead by a collar attached to a body harness, a Elaffe partner can be seen leading one covered in packages and equipment, to various parts of the precinct. Their ability to be both a pack animal or a mount makes them one of the many treasured creatures breed in Beast Haven.
It is quiet easy to spot a Elaffe as it comes down the street, not only because it neck towers over most other races in Ravnica, but because its hide is always the most spectacular of colors. While commonly seen as black with brightly colored spots, both white and yellow have been seen as a base coat. Regardless of what color the base coat is, the spots are always vibrant, almost neon in shade. Matching ones tack to your mount has become a popular fashion in the Third Precinct, one adopted by the most elite and wealthy.
With only one live birth at a time, with years in between, the Elaffe are a carefully breed race. Breeders train their whole lives in the care and maintenance of the Elaffe, and it is only the most talented of Breeder who can guess correctly what color of Elaffe will be born.
