It was natural that the Czech boy who grew up with war would become a soldier as a man. First, as a conscript grabbed by an impressment gang. Then later as a ruthless mercenary who fought from horseback with musket and saber. He served a number of equally ruthless employers who often gave him bonuses in the form of looting and rape rights. It was during a night raid that his Sire-to-be spotted him chasing down a young mother and her 3 children. She watched him rape the poor woman in front of her kids and then butcher them in front of the mother. Helenka was appalled at his monstrous deeds, which was quite an achievement due to the fact that she herself was capable of senseless cruelty. She determined to punish him in the worst way possible.   She stalked him over a few weeks, only appearing out of the corner of his eye or briefly emerging from the shadows for a fleeting second. By the winter night of his Embrace, he was quite fearful and paranoid. Before she took Dreven, she lured him and his mates into the forest and picked off his comrades one by one. Finally, he spotted her when she entered a clearing and charged at her on his faithful steed, Bouřka (tr. Storm). She simply stared at the warhorse and it reared up in a panic, throwing Dreven and running off. Helenka calmly walked toward him with a raspy phlegmatic laugh and leering expression. He got to his feet and swiped at her with his saber in a wide arc but she was far too quick and strong for him. She dodged the attack and backhanded him across the face. He fell and she was on him. Before the Embrace, she told Dreven that since he chose to act like a monster he would become one, as well. During the pain of the change over a couple of weeks, Helenka Blood Bonded Dreven to her and used him to fight various enemies, most notably vampires from Clans Gangrel, Tremere, and Tzimisce. During this period, she treated him terribly and caused him to risk Final Death many times.   More than 200 years later, Dreven summoned up enough will to overcome the Blood Bond and finally slay Helenka, driving a stake through her heart and leaving her out for the sun’s rays. Not long after, he encountered a Polish spy named Emil Langkowski and Embraced him. He continued wandering with Emil and would make his way to the New World and Ravenhurst. He quickly learned to hate Prince Whistler for his arrogant and contemptible way of dealing with others. So much, in fact, that Dreven was willing to ally with a Toreador of all things. He is content in his arrangement with Prince Lothaire. Dreven has grown convinced of one thing over time and it is that war never really goes away. The only things that change are the weapons used. Favors and changes in social standing can be just as deadly as muskets and sabers for the Kindred of the Camarilla.   One thing bothers him, however. During his time in Central Europe, he heard a name spoken only in hushed whispers by frightened farmers and townsmen. That name being of Ezinet Basayeva, a female night fiend said to creep into the beds of young handsome men mainly so she could steal their breath and tear open their torsos. He’s heard many legends related to various night creatures in his time but this one stuck with him for some reason. He tries to keep it out of his mind while he consolidates the Nosferatu hold on the subways and docks of Ravenhurst.   Image: Dreven has leathery charcoal-colored skin and pointed ears. He looks out on the world from black eyes with dark grey irises. He has no hair or nose. although he keeps relatively clean for a Nosferatu most of the time, his clothes are still old and worn. He favors dark clothing and long black coats along with wide-brimmed hats and various old scarves for covering his face.   Roleplaying Hints: You love two things...war and being an object of fear. Talk about various battles and military conflicts. Speak in a raspy voice with an accent. Flex your claw-like fingers as you speak and use them to caress an old globe or a statue. Do as much as possible to radiate a subtle but palpable air of menace.
