Zakat the Charitable

Money is so fickle. We spend it so foolishly, not thinking how desperate we all our to find our next coin. But desperation is as common as copper. You see it, and you feel the greed wrap around your heart like a blanket of spines. Every time you see the aged man with a cup begging for loose change. Every time you see the child breaking the neck of a rat because its his only meal for the day. Every time you spend unwisely on that fine cloth when a simple shirt would have done you better.   It is not I who is to instruct you on what you do with your coin. It is I who simply reminds you that if your coin vanished tomorrow, you would be the one begging. Liberate yourself, and your soul, by liberating those foolish material investments. I cannot promise perfection. But I can promise that your karma will not go unrewarded.

Moreover, the meal that they eat should not be paid for or made of their own labours. Instead, it is encouraged for people to buy or cook a meal for someone else.
