General Summary
After the revelations that occurred when surreptitiously meeting the Dragon Emperor Caldus, after having spoken to the corpse of Princess Caldus, the group reconvened in the city before preparing to set out. Korva speaks out to Ori's mother, after having concerns about her. However, the spell did not connect, giving Korva grave concerns about what this could say about her health. He determined that Ori's mother was dead, and spoke to Ori through a sending, attempting to apologize, much to Ori's disdain. As penance, but also with a plan, Korva announced to Ori that they would attempt to arrive in Belleview in a week's time for Ori to confront him once again, to which Ori accepted.
Jack announced that he wanted to take the circus in a different direction. He wanted to stop with all the adventuring and instead take the circus on a tour of the southern Holy Empire, where he saw value in profit for growing the circus, before winding his way up the coast toward Abestrand. Maul decided to instead remain with the group on whatever raucous misadventures the group would be going on, and readied himself to leave Caldarum. The group had a lively party in the tavern to send off the circus members that would be traveling with them, and before they knew it, Jack and his subset of the circus had left in the night, never to be seen again.
The group's next objective lied far in the north, near the rumoured Tiefling village that they had once encountered many months ago. Traveling via Vale Academy, they first consulted with the various mages there on a variety of topics, gaining further future objectives before readying themselves and setting off west.
Passing out to the west, they tracked the small Tiefling village - a nomadic tribe of wanderers - further afield to the west, across the unguarded northern border with the Ruby Kingdoms and the Holy Empire. In several days of travel, they indeed reached a small village on the outskirts of a mountain range, where they confronted a variety of tieflings living their lives. They consulted with these Tieflings to find out more about them, and for Korva, ideally more about his troubled past.
Here, however, they met a traveler by the name of Alia. The concern was that she seemed on the exact same objective as them, seeking out pyres in far-flung areas of the country. When consulted for a moment, it was clearly determined that she was traveling in the area searching one out, on the order of King Brooks, and that she had also been tricked in a similar way by Dublin Lanister as them. She revealed some of what she knew, and they revealed their own objectives, before Maul invited her to their adventuring brand of the circus, and they decided to team up to hunt down this latest pyre.
