Have you heard the rumours? The one of the little girl who ate her family raw? They say they found her eating the gristle off her own foot when they caught word of what she did. Just the foot, right in her mouth, with nothing but gnawed bones scattered around the room. She said that her family told her they would always be inside her, so she made it true. Can't argue that.
How about the wive's tail? The one of the woman who hung herself after murdering her husband? It was said that she could not take the horror of her own act, and decided to end it all. But her regret summoned a devil, which used her dying breath to sign a pact with her. If you find a body hanging in the woods, you know who to blame.
Or how about the story of the person who scorned a god. They didn't pray when they were asked to. They ignored all the signs, even though the signs were gifted directly to them. Eternal power of the eidolons themselves meant nothing to that fool. No, no, I don't care enough. They didn't don't BELIEVE enough. That person is so stubborn. It was said that eidolon put blades through their neck, shoulders, torso, knees, and feet, in just the proper way to where they felt nothing but agonozing pain as they were suspended to a wall, but that they were also perfectly conscious so that they could be told how horrible they were for not paying attention, and earning all the suffering they wanted by being a silly idiot.
