Episode 6
General Summary
In Asteris, the group is attempting to understand more about Korva's sorted history with the space, when his parents - The Pineguards - are encountered in the market. After a discussion, the party is invited to dinner to placate Crow who is seen to be a young lady due to his impressive disguise. Crow notes that the family was being suspiciously nice.
They continue their recon with the guard Conrad, who explains what was seen on a night many moons ago, when it is revealed that Korva killed his brothers in cold blood before fleeing the estate. The family seems to be searching for Korva, but has had no contact with him for some time.
The group makes their way into the mansion, where Korva meets his childhood friend and former servant Granite. Crow breaks down at the sight of him, and Granite recognizes him as Korva, but attempts to continue saving face so as the disguise is not lost. The dinner begins, and a happy time is had. After awhile, many guards enter the room, and before long, Marquis Pineguard announces that he knows his adopted son is at the table. With this, the party is subdued, and taken into the dungeons.
Upon awakening, looking for a method to escape, the party begins to brute force their way outs. With a clever use of a well-concealed gem of brightness, Maul easily blinds all of the guards who were attempting to subdue him. This gave time for the others to break each other out. In time, everyone was relieved of their cells, including an orc who remained unnamed. The party left the orc behind, and he left the building as fast as possible.
The group entered the throne room of the baron, eager to kill him for imprisoning them, as well as potentially taking the Korva's family's wealth for their own needs, and Korva hoping to become the baron with his lineage dead. The battle is swift, and the baron and his wife are killed. Korva speaks to Granite about what all this means as Garroth finds a curious note on a table...
