Broadening Horizons

General Summary

After gathering their wits after the brazen attack from Ori in the streets of Odessa, the group spoke several guards who fielded them questions. After a series of questions, the guards gathered the parties identity, and then presented a formal injunction for audience with the King of the Ruby Kingdoms. They are seated in the castle for a time, meeting several others, before being led to their audience. Before them was the Prince of the Holy Empire, who seemed to be sharing a terse discussion on the tepid alliance between the two nations. He and his crew sauntered out with their entourage of foreign soldiers. Next, a disgraced knight was let go of his service by the royal court. He left in a huff, surrendering his weapon and seals.   The party was called next for a tense discussion. It seems the royalty had been made aware of their activity throughout the country activating the pyres from Ser Reynolds. The group was given a battery of questions and accusations, before the true revelation was made: it is the belief of the Court of the Ruby Kingdom that these pyres are part of some ancient ritual lost to the major texts of history that will cause some sort of magical event, the proportions of which they are not even aware of. As such, blaming the party, they insist that the party insures that these pyres are not alighted neither by themselves or by any forces that seek to have them lit some other manner.   In later discussion, they are given more information from the texts in the royal court. From what they learn, the pyres have a strange geographic placement, and they postulate the potential of the final two unlit pyres, placing one to the far south, and one toward the west of the Holy Empire. They learn a little more about what the pyres might do if activated, but the texts are vague at best, littered with poetry and theoretical contemplation. They resign that they gathered a little more info than they currently had, but also accepted that further research would be needed from more authoritative texts.   The groups plans were set forth with objective...
