General Summary
Returning with their strange captive, the group returns to Vale Academy to distribute him to the academics there (only mildly interrupted by the oddity of Korva's severed hands seeming to have rose from their new grave and having attacked the town of Willow Creek). Headmaster Argentum thanks them personally, and despite the bile that the necromancer speaks, and his strange knowledge of both Garroth and Belisarius, he is taken away to be dealt with by authorities.
The group decides to take a second quest for Vale Academy, attempting to find some glowcap mushrooms for the alchemists of the academy. Korva meets with a long-term friend and rival, Elias, a high-falueting elf who's snobbery is almost as strong as Korva's distaste for him. Elias confers that he has been sent on a long-term mission for the Raven Queen, and had been seeking magic-related information at the library at Vale Academy. Garroth also continued to confide in Belisarius, both into Garroth's on past as well as his connection to the world around him. Garroth learns that his apparent home seems to be located beyond The Bloodfens, in the Zahren, the tremendous inland sea of blood. He also learns that he had some sort of private transport there in the past, but that there is also a small dock that is used by the locals to take trips into the Zahren, as well as airships which sometimes visit the Academy.
Nevertheless, the group set about to their destination, a small moss-laden ruin to the east. They found many strange statues that were eerily carved with faces of shock and panic, fine stonemanship that they had never seen before. Exploring the ruins led to a cave system and an underground stream, which led further on to their glowcap rewards. However, their noise in the cavern alerted some strange yuan-ti, which demanded to clear out the "intruders." These beasts were easily thwarted, and the group quickly left the caverns the way they entered.
Here though, they re-encountered the yuan-ti with their supposed queen, a vile Medusa. Combat ensued, and nobody as fortunately turned to stone. In time, the monsters were defeated, and the group handily made camp at the ruins with Jack's spells, before setting back to Vale Academy to gain their rewards.
