Episode 13

General Summary

After convening in the capital at Odessa, the newly formed Dubious Daggers set off northeast, following an intuition on Garroth who said a strange feeling he has felt for months continually pulls him in this direction, where he is also aware a wizard college lies. While Crow sent off letters to hire retainers for his manor back in Beryl, Garroth also shared his newly acquired maps to Jack and the crew, suggesting a relation between the recently discovered Pyreheart Temples and the strange pyres they have seen.
With this information on their mind, the larger quest began to form up their new recruits of the Dubious Daggers into a workable circus. While Altone has proven his proficiency on the trampeze, it seems some of their other recruits are a bit lacking in their qualifications. Although they attempted their best, they have proven themselves as unprofessional at best. Altone suggested he could keep an eye out for more welcoming talent as they travel.
The group eventually arrived in the town of Willow Creek, which had an oddity: high above the town itself was a massive floating precipice which upon it laid a very large set of buildings! There was little doubt this was the wizard's college. After a somewhat concerning entrance into town, the group quickly learned of the wizard's college an how to access it. A strange spellcrafting puzzle lied in wait in a tower outside of town. After solving the riddle of this puzzle, the group was transported upward to the Vale Academy itself.
Here they were greeted by the headmaster, who quickly excused himself. Nia, the headmaster's daughter, and Belasarius then led the group around to the various facilities on offer at the academy. After questioning around for a time, the group learned that much of the facilities were only useful toward students. It was informed that for those who weren't students, the academy had various needs to be accomplished, and entrepreneurial adventurers could embark on a quest to earn favour with the academy. They group contemplated this conundrum, weighing the risks of life and limb for access to raw magical knowledge and magecraft.
