Act III - Episode 1

General Summary

As The Moon's Cry draws near, and the difficulties that come with this catastrophe become easier to see, the group has spent many months in summoning Yggdrasil, reviving The Arbor, and working their way across the landscape to insure their affairs are in order before the worst is to come. It is then that the group is summoned to Kendal Hall to receive notice from Panthia. She has a plan:   Seize the entire country of Bohemia.   The statement is a bit shocking, but Panthia lays her plans bear to the heroes. With great calculation, The Watch has determined that the best method of protecting as many people as possible, as well as fortifying The Watch itself against whatever The Moon's Cry may be bringing, it is in their best interest to make sure that they are able to consolidate as much power as possible. While this traditionally goes against The Watch's goals of aiding the country in an independent manner, Panthia expresses her feelings that this neutrality is no longer possible.   Through this explanation, she insists that by asserting The Watch's authority - if successful - can then use these new resources to defend against the unknown threat ahead. Desperate times call for desperate measures. And given the circumstances, Panthia makes it clear that this is the most desperate of measures.   The plan is immediately complicated. While the realm oh Bohemia is controlled by The Lögrétta - a democratic parliament that operates the larger affairs of the country - Bohemia retains its Kaizer. Although he is largely a functionary of the government with no real wielding power, he still maintains his title for a specific act of authority known as the Hegemony Protocol. If activated, this obscure doctrine allows the Kaizer to seize control of the government, become the acting head of state, and dictate orders as a monarchy, just as the country had been led in the old days. Despite the monarchical system not having been used in Bohemia for many hundreds of years, the legacy of the monarchy is still upheld in the background, and once a Kaizer's court and council is brought together, the government can immediately operate through his dictation.   The goal is to thus align with the Kaizer - forcibly or not - in order for him to sign the Hegemony Protocol into law. With his power becoming absolute, and The Watch operating alongside him, this would give them great sway, allowing them to make larger decisions to protect the country.   Unfortunately, several other complications lie in wait. A second protocol - the Citadel Protocol - also needs to be activated from the walls around the capital of Zenith. What this aged protocol DOES is unclear, but it is used in a time of great defense. Lukas insists this is a necessary step in case the nearby Bohemian army sees this as a threatening coup, and decides to attack the city. Being mobbed by the entire army would not be ideal. Secondly, because of a recent assault by one of the warring nations attempting to invade via the public teleportation circle in Zenith, Armin reports that it has been sealed off by a number of Bohemian soldiers, meaning this access point to the city is cut off. Other direct routes through the city's gates are not shut down, but are heavily regulated, and marching with the entire contingent of Keepers through the front gates would be seen as a deliberate threat, and thus is not ideal.   Finally, The Watch wants to make the operation seem as legitimate as possible. This requires as much of The Watch to be in the city when everything occurs, including Panthia. Finally, the democrats of the country will likely not go down without a final argument, so discussion should be had in the Lögrétta to insure things are done as legally as possible, given the backhanded nature of the plan, or else The Watch and Kaizer might be at risk of open rebellion by the populace. _______________   The plan is thus decide by the group. The heroes (Team Super Alpha) will move into the city via direct teleportation to the Watch Tower in Zenith. They will take Wizard Squad, a group of mages who are Keepers, at the same time. Once secured in Zenith, Wizard Squad's duty is to lurk toward the Library where the public teleportation circle is. Wizard Squad will reclaim the teleportation circle by any means necessary except killing any assailants. Once secured, this will offer an additional access point into the city.   Super Team Alpha will then head toward the Kaizer's castle. Their goal is to secure the Kaizer and then secure his signing of the Hegemony Protocol. They are otherwise under his direct service until hostilities cease. Meanwhile, Team Kraken - the majority of Keepers, Tahvetti, and Panthia - will make their way via Lake Zodia using water-breathing spellcasting. Descending to the bottom of the lake, Kraken Squad will rise from the waters in the harbour, and make their way to a discreet location in the slums of east Zenith, known as The Puddles, and wait for further ability from Super Team Alpha.
