Tucruit

The Tucruit version of the East Affiliation. It began in the late E.D era, a few decades after lefikas were created, and was made to be a religion for them, as Meldr'uno did not want his new kin to worship a dragon deity. Since then, it has grown to be the accepted East Affiliation, making the old one (Ola’mel) hard to find.   !! Despite being made for lefikas in ancient times, this is no longer the case! All species can be Tucruit and it is not necessary for a lefiká to be Tucruit !!

Structure

The Royals - Meldr'uno desired only one family line of His lefikas be directly connected to Him/The Virtues. This began the lefiká royal family, which dominated the species as natural-born leaders with bloodlines that contain some of the rarest appearance qualities possible. At the start, royals were allowed to speak with the Virtues to get information on how to rule, but over time, Meldr'uno became less and less involved, leaving the royals as nothing more than an average lefikas aside from a few unique traits.

Tenets of Faith

The ideals of Virtue followers are viewed as shallow due to the focus on empowerment and respect of power. Initially the ideals were created to assist lefikas in rising to be on an even playing field with the dragons and gryphons, but afterwards the beliefs have become warped once the C.E era ended. Much of the Tucruit population are kind individuals who take the beliefs as a form of self-improvement rather than classism and ego, but others use it to further their hateful tactics and pass them off as part of their Affiliation.
  • All must prove their worthiness
  • Be proud of oneself
  • Sins may be forgiven but never forgotten
  • Always believe you are capable until proven wrong
  • One may not abuse magic prowess
  • Empowerment of self
  • Reach for near-perfection
  • Never betray one's fellow kin
  • Never disrespect an older female

Worship

Faithfulness to the Virtues is one of the most intense types compared to other Affiliations.
  • Respecting elder females
  • Receiving an eye decal
  • Meditating at the pyramids
  • Wearing jewelry with virtue symbols
  • Attend pyramid ceremonies
Virtue Decals - Virtues (eye tattoos) can be on one or both eyes. There are 11 different Virtues to choose from and all lefikas living in Tucruitora territory are mandated to get a virtue tattoo no matter their true affiliation (whether or not they are Tucruits). They represent an aspect of the individual's moral or personality, such as many scientists have the Diligence Virtue. A Virtue tattoo is applied to a cub/hatchling/pup after the age of 10, similar to a coming-of-age event: the parent most socialized with the cub/hatchling/pup chooses based on what traits the cub/hatchling/pup has already exhibited the most. Most eye decals chosen by the parent are not wrong so changing it as the cub/hatchling/pup ages is very rare. Once the cub/hatchling/pup is an adult they may choose to change the Virtue (although it's frowned upon) or get another of the same on the other eye.   ONLY RADICIAL TUCRUIT CULT MEMBERS ADHERE TO NIGHTBORN INFANTICIDE. Nightborns - Tucruits born after the sun disappears under the horizon are considered "nightborn" and are therefore cursed for not being under the Virtues' gaze when they first enter the world. These cub/hatchling/pups must be killed immediately, and if the parents refuse to kill or let the infant be killed then the parents are excommunicated, and the infant is killed anyways.

Priesthood

Virtue Temple Priests - The temple priests are caretakers of the pyramids and watchers of The Dome. These priests are trained more in archeology and psychology more than the actual religious teachings of a Affillioen. Temple priests keep an eye on and protect the locked-off rooms of the pyramids and are the only people allowed into The Dome unless a punishment is ongoing, but they are still present in the background to ensure things go smoothly. These priests are revered as powerful not in body, but in mind, due to their resilience to the whispers of The Dome and handling what dark secrets lurk from the ancient Tucruitorian past within the pyramids.

Granted Divine Powers

Kin of the Virtues have many opportunities to feel as if they are gaining favor in the eyes of their divines. From being in the royal family, becoming a temple priest, or meditating at the many pyramids or attending virtue-based gatherings. To value the Virtues is a prominent and near-inexcusable thing within Tucruitora territories, one such permanent sign of slight power above others is having an eye decal. True followers of the Virtues gain nothing material, but they are safe from the humming of the searching glass. They are not immune to the effects of the Hourglass when thrown in, but they have the ability to access it in the first place in designated locations. It is believed Virtue kin also have a peaked sense of the daylight cycle, able to know where the Sun is in the sky at any time.

Political Influence & Intrigue

Despite being a later religion on the table, it quickly overtook the old East Affiliation and grew. It caught up and became one of the main four, and when the West was nearly abolished, it teetered the table immensely, at once becoming the most common until Pab'Zuaan revitalized and reclaimed a lot of land for Swā Veduro.

Power is built through respect and righteousness.
