Providence

Centred in the world of Providence, we start our story on the continent of Inchoate.   A relatively new land, fractured through civil wars and beginning to rebuild itself over the past hundred years. The friction continues but alliances help ease the tension and a newfound peace is being shakily built among the mainland. The north is still greatly forgotten, inhabited by clans which are scattered about the snowy mountain ranges and grassland valleys. Here, traces of the remains of arcane magic are rumoured to exist, though they are thought of more as old tales and folklore.   In this world, the divine are highly worshipped and the infernal are often feared. Holy magic is more widespread and is held in very high regard as a powerful force to be gifted with. The gods are known to take more of a hands-on approach to their worshippers, though not all gods are necessarily good. In turn, not all infernal are necessarily bad. Here in this world, the lines are far less black and white, and much more a myriad of shades of grey.   Somewhere towards the eastern coast harbour of Newport lies a small inland village by the name of Abiel, and here our story begins...
