Solar Engineering
"Solar engineering" is a catch-all term that refers to the harnessing, complete transformation and reapplication of solar energy. Most commonly, it's used to describe the physical morphing of solar energy into other particles entirely, such as hardlight, anti-gravitons, basic proteins, etc.
Solar rays are fed into a "solar core", which is designed specifically to morph that energy to a specfic desired result. Dynamic cores exist, though they're very expensive and not often very useful in practice.
A few examples of practical uses:
- Anti-gravity stabilization and air-wave propulsion
- Ranged weaponry with no external ammunition
- Medical reconstruction
- Basic, yet sustaintable, food sources
