Magic is the main psychic force of the Galaxy. All conscious species have access to it.
White magic, like gray magic, is divided into 8 + 1 flows, the ninth flow being primordial magic or pure magic, resulting from the 8 other flows mixed into one. It is also most often divided into 9 levels of practice or degrees.
Magic is acquired at birth or after transformation. The ability to tap into magical or mana flows depends on the species as well as on the being itself. Within the same species, individuals are more or less sensitive to magic. This relationship with mana flows would be genetically or not associated with the three founding races: The Ancients (or Viturgars), the Djentars and the Kaentars.
Basic magic (levels 1 to 3) can be learned from parents or more often at school in special lessons led by magi. High levels of practice (levels 4 and above) are taught in Magic Academies governed by the Magic Code of the White Order, the highest organization responsible for regulating activities related to magic.
Adult magi are often divided into groups of 8 to 16 mages: 8 masters and 8 apprentices maximum. The majority of the groups are affiliated with the Black Angels or the White Order but some, a minority, remain independent while complying with the rules of the Code.
Magicians at a very high level, in particular level 7 and above combat mages, are very frequently recruited by the armed forces of different countries and serve as irregular Special Forces units.
The nine arcanas are as follows:
• White magic: magic of life and light.
• Azure magic: magic of air and wind, elementary magic
• Green magic: magic of nature
• Red magic: fire magic, elementary magic
• Brown magic: earth magic, elementary magic
• Blue magic: water magic, elementary magic
• Purple magic: magic of death, distorted black magic
• Yellow magic: energetic magic, elementary magic
• Pure magic: primordial magic, magic of creation
There is also black magic (or magic of death) requiring sacrifices, prohibited by the Magic Codex and severely repressed in most nations.
