Order of Phoenix Knights
Never Dying
Can you see the flames blazing in the darkness? Can you feel the vibration of their roars and trembling voices? Can you?
First, there was nothing. Only the wind danced with the leaves. Suddenly, the wind was gone but the leaves didn´t stop their dance. Sheltered, they started to vibrate. An army marched beneath them.
With scratched but steely armor and sharp swords they rode through the dark woods. Some of them carried splintered shields while other had torned banners. Humming, their voices trembled through darkness which devoured them.
Torches ignited not only the night but the forest itself. The knights were not bothered anyway since they had set fire.
- Medra Tol, Sorrow for the childrem
These words are written down in Medra Tol´s novella Sorrow For The Children. In her most infamous story she denounced the Phoenix knights as murderers, incendiaries, drunken incompetent assholes. Well, she was right with the first and second part. The third is a much more complex accusation.
First of all, those knights were drunk regularly because they knew how to party - and how to crush one. But in the last days the phoenix knights lost every reason for throwing large feasts.
Not only because the iron war had started but the order was threaded too. A thread which they did not see coming. A thread the order feared more than the thornes of a Calimya.
It was an enemy which they had banished for good. Who had spread fear and terror beyond the people of Vandaryen. A sect they believed to be dead - The Ravenchildren.
