Requirements
This position is not immediately accessible after his or her education as a Stratosmithos.Instead they are assigned as apprentices to active Stratosmithos until they are ready or a position opens up.
Appointment
They are selected by triarchs and tyrant after their education and put on probation as captains under a current Stratosmithos.
Duties
Complete loyalty to his tyrant and nation and to improve and maintain his fighting force.
Responsibilities
A Stratosmithos is expected to supervise logistics and his personnel, command in battle,design siege works and forts or even fortresses and administrate their construction even as an architect would if need be.

The commission to the rank of warsmith heightens the rank of an individual in a kratocracy massively since it's the third highest military rank behind martial Triarch and Tyrant.
Accoutrements & Equipment
Stratosmithos are a vital part of large scale operations and as such they are suitably equipped with heavy, customized plate armour and protected by a bodyguard squad known as an iron circle.The armour is ritually customized to the Stratosmithos specifications with scripts, personal and battalion sigils in order to inspire the men and intimidate the enemy.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
A Stratosmithos can be dismissed at any time by the Tyrant for unsatisfactory service, treason, disloyalty or incompetence.
