The Ways of Life


 
Progonos is an arena where many different young cultures, nations, tribes, clans and factions compete to become a significant power at least in their own region and hopefully achieve their goal in the while. But what are the chances of individual people to prevail on their own amidst the clash of such major players?
 
Whether it is about defending something precious, achieving power, defeating an enemy, creating something monumental, pursuing personal goals, or living to see another day, the people are given all the possible opportunities to step up and carve their name into the stone pillar of time. Provided if they have the raw aptitudes that it takes, of course.
 
No matter how one's looking at it, in such a world only might makes right, even in battles that are not fought with spears and axes. Those who do not or can not comprehend such an easy rule of life, are thought to deserve their unending predicaments and considered to be weaklings and those above them will gladly remind them of this. The decision is open to everybody.

Everybody has their own stories and share of struggles regardless of origin, or social standing, and usually, neither one is any better than the other. Some endure them silently, some take action, while others plan ahead, have stronger friends help them out, or perhaps resort to more forbidden methods to solve them. All it takes is to gather enough courage and keep it.   Often times, even an everyday event can prove to be a real challenge and those of a unique nature are something beyond one's imagination. Obstacles that come with a heavy price to pay in order to be completed, decisions that bring about unexpected consequences, unintentionally getting involved in something, the list could go on...

It is better to say a few words about the concept of the RPG that is related to the world of Progonos. The stories are meant to be long-term campaigns that focus on the transition of how ordinary individuals become hardened adventurers, from a more grim, realistic spectacle.   The characters are really no more at the beginning than simple men and women who suddenly get caught up in a series of events beyond their control and can only rely on their own resourcefulness to settle things one way or another.   In the aftermath, often times the only reward will be so utterly pedestrian as getting paid for a job well done, a warm feeling inside, or simply staying alive. What is more important is character development, to see how does their points of view changes, what do they learn after all that they go through, and how they defeat their own demons in the while.
