Weaving Magic in the World

The magic in the world works normally however high-level spells are near inaccessible to all spellcasters due to events that occurred during the ending of the Pantheon War 5000 years ago. Now, Magic is thought to be usable only by the artificers who manipulate their inscriptions and materials to create magic yet not. There are still some sorcerers around but only those with particularly strong bloodlines or the of the Geniekin show prowess beyond the casting of spells of the 4th level. The wizards have all but died out their once great colleges in disrepair with the lack of the funds for research and no longer access the weave without having the power overwhelm them for the few high-level spells that remain in their libraries. Wizards and Adepts alike have turned to being solely caretakers and teachers of knowledge with some useful magical prowess in the years after the Pantheon wars. Compared to the near gods who even sometimes crossed that boundary they were in the times before the wars. Once able to turn the tides of wars magic wielders now can only have minor influence on victories making them still powerful and lords of some areas but the more power they drew from the weave the more it taxes their bodies.
Now that the threads of power have thawed the old magics have once again surfaced in the Plateaus causing great upheavals good and bad
