The Shattering

This was an event of apocalyptic proportions that wiped nearly all life on every plane. Very little is known about it, because none of the survivors were in much of a state to keep historical records. It is believed, however, that many of the old gods died during this time. It is not known whether it was a long drawn out process or some instantaneous catastrophe.
