Order of the Door

The Order of the Door is an organization formed within The Window in September of the year 737.  The Window had been serving in their "temporary" position as the rulers of Sigil for over a year, and found themselves in need of a dedicated crisis response force.  It is headed by Captain Whitecrest, a Feathren who holds significant authority within The Window.  The order is still relatively small, consisting of only a couple dozen knights, and even among these many of the knights also serve other roles within The Window or other parts of Sigil. 
The order has a diverse set of responsibilities, which Captain Whitecrest often sums up as "help people that need help and hurt people that need hurting".  Their primary role is to serve as a dedicated crisis response force, responding swiftly to internal disasters ranging from fighting fires to conducting hostage negotiations.  The Window also tends to draw on the knights for particularly dangerous work.  In particular, almost every expedition sent through The Wandering Door contains at least one knight.
