Communication and transportation are tying the world together. Today’s food production outmatches the feasts of medieval kings. Mankind is going places, both in space exploration and in technology. This new and improved world comes from the hands of second globalization. However thankful we are for the benefits it provides, it is undeniable that people, within their own communities, are growing further apart. The world is no longer divided only by the cold war, but also by the finances of its people. There is a clear picture of what is best for you: Get rich, buy a big house, and raise a family to continue your legacy. But above all, use your power so your people can grow even bigger. Those who can’t follow this dream are beneath all.

The city of Powersville is populated by two kind of humans: The Magicals and the non-Magicals. Through their natural powers, Magicals can willingly change their environment. A mixed couple will only give non-Magical offspring. Magicals are the rulers and owners. They make up 15% of the population. The non-Magicals are the workers and the servants, they are the other 75%. Out there, status dictates how far you’ll go in life. Your street name is second. Your past is all of what you are. No one is looking after you. Democracy exists, but in Powersville they have none. The winner is elected before you vote. Companies go from father to son. Corruption is rampant, and the law favors only the one who wrote it. There is no good political party, only one that benefits you. Within the new globalized world, a workforce that never complains is preferred. The rest of the documented population is made up of extra dimensional beings who seek a better world. These new citizens are rapidly changing the economy; they take the jobs of the non-Magicals for pitiable salaries. And they are not welcomed by the previous plebs.
