Jarnfjoll
Jarnfjoll are a gigantic mountain range to the north of the world extremely rich in minerals and resources. This range forms the northern boarder to the continent, so tall, so rugged they are impassable. No one knows what lies to the north. On the southern side is covered in deep fjords and thick ancient forests.
Geography
Dominating mountains. Cold, windy, impassable. So impassable no one knows what lies to the north. It is a harsh yet beautiful range. In the lower levels and foot hills are numerous paths and caves that have been carved out. There are scattered settlements across the mountain faces often hidden away from the biting wind.
The largest settlements are the dwarven cities carved into the mountains themselves.
Fauna & Flora
The tips of the mountains are mostly barren, in the lower level & foot hills are covered in thick forest and some plains. Moose, elk, deer, rabbit, wolves, standard forest animals are common. In the colder, snowier regions there is the occasional snow troll.
Natural Resources
The mountains themselves contain iron, copper and silver ore. There are other smaller deposits of more exotic metals. Dwarven cities and other smaller settlements have sprung up around these ore deposits.
The wildlife provides furs. The forests provide lumber often used in the south.
