For over a decade the war between the kingdom of Danerheim and the Peoples Republic of Greater Svaden has dragged on, since neither army has the capabilities to successfully invade the other country. The fortress city of Lunt stopps the citizen army of Svaden, which, with its 5. and 7. Army, lays an never ending siege to it. In the meantime the Royal Navy lays demoralised and broken in their habours, unabel to face the Svadien Navy and open a window for a possible invasion of the Royal Army deep into Svadien territory. In the south of Danerheim and Svaden, the greedy Alliance of free Citys watches and waits for a moment to strike at the migthy kingdome. Since the third Strait Wars the Alliance had to accept Danerheimien rule over the straits and in extend had to accept the customs imposed on their trade goods. If there was a time to rule the waves of the Pommeranien Sea once again, it would be now. From the Danerheimien Colonies in the Far West to the Czardoms hidden in deep snow and dark forests, a change is inevitable. It might be the war between the great powers of Pommerania or the strange new machines, powered with coal and steam, that Danerheimien and Svadien engineers have started to create. But rumours tell a a different tale, a tale of dangerous creatures with human skin and tongue with powers and knowledge only the gods should posses. For now the Holy Church has stopped those rumours from spreading and the Inquisition has doubled their effort in exterminating witches and other evil, but for how long?
