General Summary

Alexus Westinghouse told the players about their upcoming challenge.
The party set off from Algor, travelling through a teleportation circle.
They came across an Xvart camp nearby. The leader of the Xvarts wanted a new weapon better suited to its station, and the players agreed to make one. The players walked off to a nearby wood, collected a stout branch and brought it back to fashion a primitive pike with a sword for a tip. In exchange, the Xvarts told them of nearby mines, monsters in the hills and an old lady in the nearby woods.
The players spent the night camping at the foot of a hill. They hear the call of a beast from the mountains in the night, but are otherwise not disturbed.
In the morning, the players set off again on a straight line towards Algor. When they reach a small river, the players stop to catch some fish for their dinner. They are unlucky with their first attempts, but after 3 hours manage to get a reasonable haul.
They continue deeper into the forest until dusk, where they are fortunate to find a cave to spend the next few nights in with a small pool in the back for drinking water. It's home to a few pierces and a darkmantle, but they're easily dispatched. They spend two nights here waiting for the next day, during which time they manage to trap a wolf so they have food for the next few days. They also see a few wisps, but do not leave the cave to investigate further.
On the dawn of the 6th day of the First month, as they prepare to set out, they spot a small girl in a red cloak in the direction they were planning to go.
