The Crystal Vynter

The Crystal Vynter is an honor bestowed to a Shadowbranch citizen who impacted the town’s wine industry. The actual vynter is a one-foot crystal-made wine glass with a gold rim and emerald vines wrapped around the base and body. The item is imbued with fey magic as it glows red in the presence of ripe grapes.   The person who earned the Crystal Vynter would have their name displayed on it for a year.   Eli made one caveat to the Crystal Vynter and the honor that came with it - no person could receive the item more than once.   The first winter of the Crystal Vynter was Rissa Bogeifield, who was honored for her dedication to the SummerDay Winery.   Waddle Arsnell received the Crystal Vynter for their 85 years of service in making the wine at the Peachtree Vineyards.   Rayna Wolftooth, owner of the Wolftooth Winery in the northern part of the town, earned the Crystal Vynter for opening her winery to the public during a terrible storm that nearly flooded the town.   Not everyone who earned the Crystal Vynter was directly involved with winemaking or selling.   Kara Teadrinker was honored for encouraging visitors at Teadrinker manor to purchase wine in Shadowbranch. The Northman Odimon Wolfpelt brought an entire supply of wine from three wineries.   Millie the Kind was honored for sacrificing her life to stop a summoned devil from destroying a vineyard in The Below.

History

The Vynter was a gift to Shadowbranch from the fey nobleman, Mairu Pearfather in 30 AT. Pearfeather spent months in Shadowbranch, visiting each winery and vineyard. The nobleman enjoyed his stay so much, he wanted to bestow a gift to the people and created the Crystal Vynter.   With this gift, then-mayor Eli Retrabone decided to make it a symbol of Shadowbranch’s excellence in winemaking and sought to recognize an individual who went above and beyond for the town and its wine industry.
