Moonlight Guild

Lycanthropes in Pinegaard aren’t uncommon. Many werewolves, werebears, and other creatures who turn into animals during the full moon seek shelter in the region’s thick forests, mountains, or in the municipalities scattered throughout the continent. One group of lycanthropes who seeks to make the world better for their kind have formed the Moonlight Guild.

Structure

There are 200 members of the Moonlight Guild, all of whom have some form of lycanthropy. Once a Guild member learns of someone contracting lycanthrope, whether through a bite or at birth, they reach out to the individual and their family to offer aid and membership into the Guild. In the case of children, the Guild holds off on offering membership until the lycanthrope reaches adulthood and can consent to membership on their own. Lycanthropes can decline to join the organization, but Guild members will continue to watch over them.   Guild members are scattered throughout Pinegaard and maintain contact through Magic Messages or letter delivery. The Guild's efforts include raising awareness about lycanthrope, providing safety measures for folks, or, in some instances, defeating those who hunt were-beings and their families.   Notable Moonlight Guild Members   Fionna Bloodfang - a werewolf, and great-granddaughter of the founding members Sline and John Bloodfang.   Zile - a goblin and werebat who resides in Shadowbranch with the Teadrinker family.   Nold Lightscal - a dragonkin and a recently-turned werebear who guides travelers through the Applescarn Mountains.

Culture

The four founders established the Moonlight Guild that evening. The Guild believes that when someone contracts lycanthrope, it is not the end of their existence, but the beginning of a new life.

Public Agenda

The Moonlight Guild has grown its membership throughout the years and have made an effort to work with cities and townships to establish sanctuaries. While most municipalities are not friendly toward lycanthropes, viewing them as dangerous, some towns have welcomed them, such as Burnheart, Shadowbranch, and Ribbon’s Wharf.

History

This order was first founded in 76 AT when a group of lycanthropes met in the port town of Ribbon’s Wharf. The four shared stories of the dangers they face, even in their hybrid forms, as well as proposed ideas on how to help their kind.   The Moonlight Guild has grown its membership throughout the years and have made an effort to work with cities and townships to establish sanctuaries.
