Action Elements

  • Perform an Education Trait Check to adjust the Skill Ranks of an Active Educational Focus Skill.
  • The adjusted Skill Rank can only be used on the Check that follow the Skilled Action.
  • The Action's Education Trait Check result will determine the adjustmentl:
    • Boon:
      • Skill Ranks increase by +4 Skill Ranks.
      • -OR-
      • You may choose to attempt a second Education Trait Check, on a Boon -OR- a Pass you gain +1 Skill Rank in the current Skill you are attempt to adjust.
    • Pass: Skill Ranks increase by +2 Skill Ranks.
    • Push: Skill Ranks increase by +1 Skill Rank, but but a Push Cost occurs & must be dealt with as well.
    • Bane: +1 Difficulty Level to your next Check.

Example

You encounter a Sapient Keyword Creature with a bow drawn that is rapidly speaking in a language that no one in your company can comprehend. You note that is sounds somewhat like another language that you do speak. You have the Linguist Educational Focus Active & 3 Skill Ranks in linguistics & want to try and figure out a word, motion or phrase even that might signal that you mean no harm. Before rolling a Logic + linguistics Check, you perform the Skilled Action to hopeful increase the chances of passing this Check; ideally turning a 3 decrease to the Check's Result into a 4 to a 7 decrease on a Push, Pass or Boon rolled during the Skilled Action.
