The Town of Lilyplith

OPENING PIECEThe town of Lilyplith represents a more fishing kind of riverwood based port town than most spots in the mainland. Their main export being the variety of fish they gather from the Nero Sea, as well as the salt they 'skim' from the sea bed using large combs that are held by 4 at a time and dragged across the sea bed that the locals call 'Lilyteeth'. The town consists of hardened and tanned humans, a smattering of halflings and a small concentration of sea elves. One would describe the town as sleepy compared to most other mainland spots though the walls around the back end of the village being constantly darkened by the large forests that seem to lean and stare over the walls into the town.   However, as for what you know of Lilyplith, it is a port town filled with hard working labourers and is watched over closely by the kingfishers and Five Leaves tribe thanks to its ex-pirate history and the hunters pass being on the island. However, it is also very well known for its jaunty and 'messy' night life with a string of bars, clubs and inns for tourists and the labourers of the town to enjoy, or as they call it 'getting wet'   SHOPS: The Salted Blade- Owned by a pair of sea Elves clerics of the transmuter and forge clerics. Specialise in 'oiling' their weapons so sell various oils that can be applied that add various properties to weapons as long as they match the style and type. Also deal in a variety of blades and armours that all carry an enchanted sea scent on them.   Hearty Tailors- A tailor owned by two human ex-pirates, men who developed a 'special' relationship at sea. They have since set their lives to developing clothes for fisherman and pirates across the mainland, they also deal with runic enchanted pirate clothing for those looking to REALLY dive into that theme around themselves. They sell the following enchanted items: 1) The Seeing Patch: A patch that, once per day can give you true sight out to 60 feet for 10 minutes. 1000gp 2) The Smugglers Coat: A dark blue trench coat with ruby inlaid buttons that snugly fits and seems to go out of it's way almost to be as relaxing and comfortable for you as possible. The coat also has deep lined pockets and functions as a bag of holding with the same weight limitations though you must be able to fit the items in one of the trench coat pockets 1500gp 3)The gunslingers gloves: These fingerless gloves have been enchanted to give you more efficiency in battle, ensuring that trigger finger remains itchy. Once per day you may add 1d6 to your initiative for a combat. 1450gp   The Knightcap- Both the inn, club and alchemist of Lilplith as well as its main hidden gem for tourists, this inn and club allow the denizens to buy potions but also dabble in alchemical alcohols, with strange potion based effects that get you fucked at the same time. Owned by two halflings called Oscar and Esmeralda Kindleaf who are former alchemists who, as they call it 'saw a gap in the market' and took quick college courses in bar and cocktail mixing.   The Torn Iron- A rather large inn that sits deep in the town and regards itself as a quiet spot for the more relaxed guests but also acts as a spot for private meetings and debauchery that requires a little more anonymity.   The Latino Ship Bar- o course there's one here, the chain still carries its hooters styling but the waitresses have a pirate theme of eyepatches, fake cutlasses and ripped booty shorts that say 'argh matey' on the backside.

Government

Ran by the hands of the jewelled and enforced by the kingfishers and five leaves despite the jewelled attempt to politically involve themselves.

Defences

The wall blocks the forest inhabitants with exceptions of more powerful creatures while the port stops sea creatures entering the town unseen as well as the increased guard presence.

Infrastructure

The town is built on an individual business basis with a tourist reliance and notions of hard graft for comfortable living carried with a mindset that the poor are poor for a reason.

Guilds and Factions

five leaves Kingfishers

History

The town was founded as a respite for smugglers and pirates at first when Tolith first owned the island for his research. After a time the kingfishers were formed in order to protect the town a little better and, after a brief civil war amongst the government privateers of the kingfishers and the pirate kings, the kingfishers and 5 leaves were brought under the hands of the jewelled to form Havos as part of the mainland and give the factions control of the islands protection as wel as offering bases to both.
